Sweet Tooth Saturday!

This cake recipe is from my husbands cousin and the syrup is from my sister. Put them together and HOLY COW! SOOOOOOOOOO GOOD!

Chocolate Cake

2 cups sugar
1 3/4 cups flour
1/2 cup cocoa
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup boiling water

Combine dry ingredients. Add all wet ingredients except water to combine. Stir in boiling water. Pour into a greased 9x13 pan and bake at 350 for 30 - 35 minutes.

Vanilla Cream Syrup

1 cup heavy cream (1/2 pint)
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla

In a medium sauce pan stir all ingredients until sugar is dissolved. Let cool slightly and transfer to blender. Blend on high. Syrup will thicken as it cools.

Serve over warm chocolate cake.
