Zion National Park in conjunction with the community of Springdale, Zion Natural History Association, Zion Harvest and Z-Arts will celebrate the 41st Anniversary of Earth Day in Springdale, Utah, on Saturday April 23, 2011.
Live music and a farmer’s market will be accompanied by vendors, activities and demonstrations about native plant sources, alternative energy, “Leave No Trace” principles, solar ovens, environmental art and sustainable products. Kids can participate in games and a reading of Dr. Suess’ “The Lorax”.
The event, including a silent auction and a beer garden, takes place on the lawn of the Bit & Spur Restaurant at 1212 Zion Park Boulevard from 11:00 AM to 4:00 P.M.
All proceeds from this event benefit the town of Springdale’s efforts to convert all public facilities to solar power.
Go here to see a schedule of events! Don't forget that it is still National Park Week, so you can get into Zion National Park, or any other National Park for FREE until Sunday, 4/24!
We have been to this celebration multiple times and it is a lot of fun! Maybe we will see you there!
